As the Season has now ended and prizes distributed it’s time to stop and take stock of the season past, time to reflect on the wins, losses and joys we’ve experienced and time to say thank you to some very special people we need to acknowledge as without them we do not prosper nor continue.
To our ever smiling band of volunteers, Peter, Pa, Gary, Meg, Glen, Stephen, Dene, Irina, Meeda, Emily, Carolyn who are hands on every session either carrying boats or motors for us or bringing the much needed hot tea or coffee thank you, your support both physical and emotional allows us to know we’re on the right track and to keep going.
To our supporters, Urban Apartments, Resolute Adaptive, Resolute Racing, Rowing NSW, Designer Paintworks, the Regatta Shop and others who prefer to remain in the shadows thank you. You have contributed to the most successful season yet.
To our Facebook supporters, thank you for following us. Your comments, likes, private messages and words at regattas inspire us.

To Liam James, Head Coach, Para Rowing, Balmain Rowing Club, thank you for an amazing year. You finished the season with an unbeatable record. One of your squad, Jeremy McGrath chosen to compete at the Rio Paralympics, James Talbot, Ruby Sutherland, Kevin Wall, Caitlin Lisle chosen to attend selection and row for the chance to represent their country; numerous State Gold medals won; Gold at Nationals; Kevin Wall winning club top point scorer for both open and Masters competition; Eoghan Kilbridge being the top Junior male athlete pointscore winner; another of your junior athletes, Marco Cirjak winning top point scorer at the J B Sharp series; organising and coaching the first ever para eight at the Head of the Yarra Regatta, Melbourne, Victoria and then ensuring every para athlete that nominated had a seat and competed thereby entering two para eights; ensured your other three coaches Anne Craig, Barbara Ramjan and Alex Nikolaidis were well supported and any assistance they needed was organised and finally but by no means the least, overseen the expansion of both athletes and equipment thus ensuring we go from strength to strength.
To Anne Craig, Barbara Ramjan, and Alex Nikolaidis – thank you for an incredible season. Your tireless work in bringing through the next generation of PR1, PR2 and PR3 rowers for Australia is nothing short of inspirational, and your skills and expertise are valued by every member of the squad. For your work in advocating the advancement of para-rowing equipment and the reduction of red-tape in the sport, to your work in ensuring the program is perfectly placed in providing opportunities for every member, your dedication is second to none. All you need to do is to see the results and the gratitude on the faces of your squad, from the elite right though to the novice, to know you are doing well!
We’ve had a ball, we are blessed to have the best in coaching, the best in friendships, the most fantastic squad and volunteers that will give their all to ensure we go from strength to strength.
We cannot wait for the new season to start!
