We’re always looking for new ways to help support our rowers:
Lack of disabled access to the boats and amenities is discouraging potential rowers.
WHAT WE NEED
- An Upgrade to Facilities to include disabled or level access to the shed and boats
- Disabled access to amenities
The costs involved in running a rowing program are significant. For a para-rowing squad it is even higher because of the specialised equipment required for each individual rower. As the program grows additional equipment is required to cater for the increasing range of disabilities.
One of the Programs goals for the 2016/17 regatta season is to enter doubles crews consisting of a TA rower and an able-bodied rower in a regatta. To do this, a specialised seat configuration and boat is required.
The Program relies on the support of donors and fundraising to meet these costs and ensure the continuing growth of the program at the community level.
The Program has also been generously being supported by Rowing NSW which has donated the specialised boats and equipment, and individual supporters who have donated second-hand boats.
WHAT WE NEED
- TA/AS Para double scull
- Single and double sculls for LTA rowers
- Ergometer suitable for TA/AS rowers
- Adaptive fixed seat
- Safety equipment
- Flat bottomed tinny with motor
