Stephen approached the Australian Paralympic Committee to inquire about an appropriate rowing club that specialised in working with physically diverse athletes so he could follow his dream of learning to row with the aim of getting to selection in the near future. Congratulations RUBY SUTHERLAND on winning the Schoolgirl Head Of The River Para 1x on Saturday at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Ruby raced for PLC Croydon but did all her training under the watchful eyes of her coaches at the Balmain Para Program. Sam Shalhoub – Rower On The Rise

  Sam works as a Masseur and specialises in working with elite athletes. One of those athletes was an Australian Olympic rower and after discussing the sport with that rower Sam was motivated to try rowing himself. Given his visual impairment he knew he would qualify and the one thing Sam has maintained throughout his life is a level of fitness already pushing at what one would expect in terms of fitness if that person was at the elite level of their sport. Winter Racing Opportunities

To all para-rowers, we hope you've taken a well-deserved break following the end of the rowing season in April. J B Sharp Series In NSW, we are about to commence our winter series of regattas, known as the JB Sharp Memorial Regatta Series.  The Series announced last year that they were trialling the inclusion of Para Rowing at that series - this year they've tweaked the rules and it is back for another year.  The regatta series runs for 10 weeks each alternate week from this Sunday, 9am - 12am.
